NO art exhibition / Workshop

The Students at Westerdals School of Communication carry out a project every year were they make products related to a theme and organize an exhibition where these products are being sold. The profit goes to a cause decided by the students. The school had decided to make the event in Berlin, and we were asked to ‘coach’ the students and help out in organizing the exhibition.

The theme given by the school was ‘meeting’. Since this is more or less the only autonomous assignment the students are working on during their studies, there were some discussion whether this could be considered an art-project or not. We suggested avoiding the art connotation. The students ended up calling the event ‘NO art exhibition’, with the long-term intention of creating a platform for exchange between Berlin and Oslo.
